Privacy Policy

LightHouse is a personal stylist app made by Starlight AI Inc. ("we"). It dresses you from the clothes you already own. This policy says what it collects, where that goes, and what you can do about it. The short version: your closet lives on your phone. Things leave it only to do something you asked for, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
What stays on your phone
Your closet (photos and descriptions of your clothes), your looks, outfit history, plans, trips, taste and color profile, and your settings are stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them, unless you have a backup.
What leaves your phone, and why
- To the AI stylist. When you use a feature that needs it (adding clothes, asking for an outfit, planning a day, week or trip, shopping, trends, reading a look or your colors), the app sends what that feature needs to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude to produce the answer. That can include photos of clothing, descriptions of your closet, your messages, the weather, your taste profile, and for day and week plans the titles, times and places of the calendar events in that period. The app asks for your agreement before anything is sent to the AI the first time, and you can turn the AI stylist off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- A photo of your face, only if you use color analysis. It's sent to the AI to read skin, hair and eye color, and asked for separately. It is not used to identify you, and it is not stored by us: the app deletes its copies after the scan and our server doesn't keep it.
- Your voice, only when you tap the LightHouse logo to talk. The microphone listens until you stop speaking. Your speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech recognition, on the phone itself wherever the phone supports it (otherwise by Apple's or Google's speech service). Only the resulting text is sent to the stylist, like a typed message. We never receive or keep the audio.
- Your location, for the weather. Your approximate coordinates go to our server, which asks Open-Meteo for the forecast. For trips, the place you type is looked up the same way. We don't keep your location.
- Your account. To use LightHouse you create an account with your email address and a password. We keep your email, when the account was made, and your password only as a salted one-way hash, which can't be turned back into the password. We email a code to confirm the address is yours and to reset a forgotten password, through Resend, our email provider.
- Backups. A copy of your closet, including photos, is stored in private storage with our hosting provider, Vercel, so it can come back on a new phone. It stays until you turn backups off and delete it (Settings → Backup) or delete your account. You can also save a backup to a file yourself, which never touches our server.
- Your subscription, if you buy one. In the US and on the web you pay through Stripe; elsewhere through the App Store or Google Play, with RevenueCat keeping track of the purchase for us. We receive whether you're subscribed, which plan, and when it renews. We never see your full card number: Stripe, Apple or Google handle payment details under their own privacy policies.
- Reports. If you report something the stylist said, we keep the words you flagged, your reason and note, and a random ID for your install, so a person can review it. Reports are deleted after 12 months.
- Crash reports. If the app hits an error, it sends us a short technical report: the error and where in the app's code it happened, the app version, and your phone's model and operating system version. It doesn't include your closet, your account or anything you typed, and it isn't linked to you. We use it only to fix bugs, and delete it after 90 days.
- A random install ID and your IP address. The app makes a random ID the first time it runs; our server uses it and your network address to limit how many requests one phone can make. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for a short period.
Who processes it for us
- Anthropic runs the AI. Data is sent under Anthropic's commercial terms, which don't allow Anthropic to train its models on it. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts our server and stores backups, accounts and reports.
- Resend sends sign-in codes (and, to us, copies of reports).
- Stripe takes card payments in the US and on the web; Apple and Google take them in their stores, and RevenueCat tells us what was bought there.
- Open-Meteo provides weather and place lookups. It receives coordinates or a place name from our server, not from your phone, and nothing that identifies you.
We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs, don't track you across other apps or websites, and don't sell or share personal data.
Your choices
- Turn the AI stylist off, or withdraw consent to face analysis, in Settings → Privacy.
- Delete your server backup in Settings → Backup.
- Delete your account in Settings → Account. That deletes the account and the backup stored with it. What's on your phone stays until you delete the app.
- For anything else, including access or correction requests, email avash@starlightaiinc.com.
Depending on where you live, the law gives you rights over your personal information, for example under Canada's PIPEDA or the GDPR in the EU and UK: to see what we hold, correct it, have it deleted, or take it with you (Settings → Backup → Save a copy). Email us to use them, and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your privacy regulator, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
LightHouse is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has used it, contact us and we'll delete what we hold.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Backups, accounts and reports are in private storage that can only be read through short-lived signed links our server issues. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and new accounts are confirmed by a code sent to the email address.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app for significant changes.
